Fall Art Walk

Here in my hometown, we have seasonal art walks. It’s such an amazing community gathering!

Friday, August 27th was the opening night of the fall art walk. we honored our fallen artist, gordon sherman, in the arts center. You can find a small amount of his work on the fort hays state university website. if you are local, you can stop by and see the amazing works for Gordon on display and for sale at the hays arts center, 112 east 11th street. i took two classes with Gordon during my time at FHSU, he was a wonderful teacher, a kind man, and an incredible artist. he is greatly missed!

there were dozens of artists featured in local businesses on the bricks, and I was blessed enough to be one of them! I had over 80 pieces of artwork framed and hung in the art annex at 1010 main street. my show is still up, if you are interested in stopping by leave a comment and i’ll let you in. i will be taking my pieces down at the end of September. you may notice some blank areas on the wall where a frame once clearly was, I sold four pieces and have slowly started delivering them to the buyers.

It was great catching up with friends from school!

i have not had my own showing since 2011 when kris kuksi was located in hays on main street. this was such an amazing opportunity and I am so thankful to brenda for allowing me to showcase my work in the fall art walk.

Some of gordon’s work on display until october 8th at the hays arts center - hays, ks

The hays arts center/council has done a wonderful job of orchestrating and finding artists to fill up downtown, the art community owes a lot of gratitude to brenda!
